About Glenn Klecker

Glenn Klecker is an award winning knife and tool designer who lives in Silverton, Oregon. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Glenn was a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps during Operation Desert Storm where he led a detachment of 100 Marines, for which he received the Navy Achievement Medal. He is also an expert marksman in both rifle and pistol.

He has extensive background in the design and engineering of products and manufacturing technology in several fields including the automotive industry, the knife and tool industry and medical/dental devices. Individually and as part of a team, his knife and tool designs have resulted in over 22 patents with 9 more applications still pending, and have lead to several design awards, including the IWA International Multitool of the Year for 2006 and 2004; the “iF”, Product Design Award for 2006; Blade Magazine, "Best American Design" of 2008 and just recently, the Blade Magazine Award for "Most Innovative Custom Design" of 2010.

In his most recent endeavor, he is the inventor of an award winning blade lock mechanism (patent pending) featured on his design of the NIRK Knife being made by Columbia River Knife & Tool.
